We will shoot the Jingle of 200+ head of horses in and out each day. We will have an opportunity to shoot wranglers with horses saddled, scenics with horses, riders, artistic lighting situations, feed wagon, and more! A warming vehicle will be made available for photographers near the shoot location. In addition to shooting, this workshop includes: Lodging in Guest Cabins (Single and Double Occupancy), Gourmet meals, Horseback Riding, Ice Skating & Hockey, Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing, Sleigh Rides, and so much more!

This photo tour is designed to experience the majesty of the Lusitano breed against beautiful backdrops and locations. At various locations, Scott Trees will be setting up scenes for participants to photograph and create memorable images. In addition, we will provide side excursions to some of the more picturesque areas of Portugal, offering an experience not just for the Lusitano breed, but Portugal itself. This package includes accommodation with breakfast and transport (as needed for the tours and shoots) for all 7 days.

Texas Vision is a new type of photography adventure with an old West twist. The workshop is hosted at Nine Bar Ranch, a 12,000 acre working ranch in the heart of cowboy country. During the course you will experience shooting rodeo action, lifestyle, portraits and day-to-day life on a working ranch, dogs herding cattle and chuck wagon sunrise and sunset meals. If you are new to photography and/or new to photographing horses, this experience will hold a multitude of riches for you. We’ve packed this event with all the stuff we wish we’d had when we started our photography journey. We will begin with basic instruction on camera usage, exposure, editing, composition, and more. Creativity and business will also be covered. Shoots included will cover multiple common equine photography situations including portraits, black backgrounds, conformation, action, back lighting, silhouette, and more.

Mark Kettenhofen is the perfect instructor for this magical unique journey. Includes specialized techniques-light painting, astrophotography, off-camera flash, and lighting. We stay at a medieval-inspired cave hotel that transports you through time. Weather permitting, the sky fills at sunrise with colored hot-air balloons. As night falls, photograph the celestial wonders, towering fairy chimneys, horsemen in traditional attire.

This summer Western Photo Workshop takes place in the beautiful Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming, at the historic Spear-O-Wigwam Lodge. This property was a writing haven for author Ernest Hemingway in the early 1900s. This workshop will not only develop students’ photography skills, but also allows them to do so on horseback!

This is one of the last frontiers where you can find families living as they did centuries ago in a nomadic lifestyle, traveling with their herds of horses, goats and sheep, living in a ger or what we call a yurt. During our stay we will attend horse festivals, spend a morning with an Eagle handler, ride camels on the edge of the Gobi desert, photograph the rare Prezewalski horses, mounted archery, have a private photo session with models in traditional clothing, and see a vast array of historical areas. This is a photographic journey like no other. Spots are limited.
