Malcolm Snelgrove
Malcolm Snelgrove is a Dartmoor-based equine and conservation photographer whose work centres on the quiet relationship between semi-wild ponies and the landscapes they help to shape. For over two decades he has followed Dartmoor’s herds in all seasons, observing their behaviour, hierarchy and role in conservation grazing. His approach is rooted in patience and fieldcraft, working within natural conditions rather than staging them. As a Visit Dartmoor Ambassador and Patron of the Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust, Malcolm combines storytelling with ecological understanding, offering photographers rare insight into both image-making and the living landscape itself.
