Kelly Chalfant

Welcome, and thank you for visiting! My husband (also named Kelly) and I live in Perrysburg, Ohio. My husband is originally from Cambridge, Ohio and I grew up in Centerville, Ohio. We both have been interested in photography for many years, however, in the last several years I have become thoroughly obsessed with it. While I work full time job, I spend much of my free time with camera in hand. I love the challenge of trying to capture a beautiful scene in a way that does it justice, or to photograph something ordinary in a way that makes it interesting, or even beautiful. I have been honored to have my work featured in Ohio Magazine for a variety of articles on Perrysburg Ohio. I have won awards from the Wood County Parks District and the Photo Arts Club of Toledo. The American Kennel Club has recognized our work in their annual photo contests. My work has been featured in the Wood County Park guides and can be seen in their gallery in Bowling Green, Ohio. In 2017 several of my photos were selected along with 20 other local artists' work, for a display on large screens above the stage during a performance by the Toledo Symphony Orchestra that was in celebration of our National Parks System. The Ohio State Parks and Ohio Department of Natural Resources selected our photo of Marble Head as the Overall Winner for the 2017 Photography Contest out of over 1700 entries. In 2022, for the 34th Annual photography contest hosted by The Photo Art Club of Toledo, I was honored with the following awards: Best in Show and First Place in the Animals Category for my photo of two horses titled "Old Friends", Second Place for the People Category for my photo "Waiting to Dance", Third Place in the Open Category for my macro soap bubble photo, as well as two honorable mentions for Animals and Places for my photos of our dog, Spencer and the Naples Pier. As a former event and dressage rider, I have found that I truly love to photograph horses and riders, always striving to capture the special bond between the two. My husband and I are honored to be providing photography services for the Ohio Dressage Society's horse show series near Columbus, Ohio.
