I share a home with my husband, two rescue dogs and three horses. My main passions are photography, the outdoors and animals of all varieties. Living amidst the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains and experiencing the appealing blend of Western cultures found in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region, my photos inevitably reflect my deep love for the Western legacy and natural landscape that are so characteristic of the region.
Horses have always occupied a special place in my heart. As a small child, I surrounded myself with horse-themed books, toys, and pictures and spent a great deal of time at a local ranch with horses for rent. As a teen, I was presented with a horse of my own, and I've always had one (or more) since. Eventually, I combined my interests and developed a business and web site devoted to outdoor, equine and western lifestyle photography, with a specialty in Wild Horse images.
My award-winning work has been featured in several articles, competitions, public and private collections, books, magazines and calendars appearing in such publications as American Cowboy, Western Horseman, Trail Blazer, COWGIRL, Breyer/Reeves International, The Wall Street Journal, truCowboy, Back in the Saddle and others.
I also volunteer my photography services to local rescues and other organizations. Please feel free to inquire about my availability if you are such an entity.
Please be sure to check out my Blog - ""Adventures with wild horses and other news."" There are many stories, links and photos about our wild horses and it's searchable.(http://nickolesphotography.wordpress.com)
I have an extensive collection of images. I invite you to view my galleries and welcome your comments and any questions or requests you may have (www.nickolesphotography.com).
