Sombrero Ranch Photo Workshop
and Great American Horse Drive Event Report
From Ferne Saltzman
Ferne Saltzman writes: "I am even more excited after returning from the Photo Workshop and the Great American Horse Drive in Colorado than I was the day before I left home. I cannot say enough about the entire operation. Our hotel was comfortable and clean, with a wonderful breakfast to send us out into the day and even soup and cookies to welcome us back. All arrangements went smoothly -- a rarity these days. The photo shoot at Sombrero Ranch was spectacular. I have been a professional photographer for 30 years, doing many ranch and wild horse shoots, and never have I seen anyone work harder than Scott Trees to set up amazing scenes for us. He worked tirelessly to see that we got what we needed. Our wranglers knocked themselves out to please us, often drenching themselves repeatedly to see that we got the perfect spray in our images as they raced across the stream. Getting great photographs is easy when you have such an awesome team working for you. And the grand finale of following the herd of 600 horses for 2 days over hill and dale to the ranch was a peak experience for even the most jaded photographer. What was a city girl of my age doing in the back end of a pick-up truck photographing through the dust? Having the most incredible time of my life! Can't wait until next year."
