2010 in Review

EPNet Courses
Seven Online Courses offered in 2010

In 2010 EPNet once again offered some excellent courses that were well attended by enthusiastic participants. Course leaders saw improvement as attendees grew by leaps and bounds and enjoyed teaching as much as the students enjoyed participating!

Rachael Waller led a very active and inspiring course on Creating and Marketing Fine Art Photography that encouraged many participants to venture onto a new path with their work. Photoshop guru and artist Sherron Sheppard led two courses on Photoshop techniques, and Peter DeMott's Advertising and Promotion course had students reading some excellent resources and using the new information they learned to apply to their own businesses. Shelley Paulson led a thought provoking Composition short course and the annual Basics of Equine Photography course led by Carien Schippers was well attended. Scott Tree's webinar course The Art of Seeing Light rounded out the year.

View some of the work created during these courses in our Image Showcase area and plan to take a course with us this year! These courses and more will be offered in 2011!

Assignments and Shoots
General Member Photo Assignments and Fun Shoots

Members participated in our monthly assignments as well as fun shoots and came back with some spectacular work to share. Photos were uploaded to forum albums where other members could then leave comments, critiques and tips.

Photo by Christina WeidmannAssignments covered such topics as Photoshop, Humor, Headstudies, Black Background, Fine Art, Creating a Business Card and more. In addition to the monthly assignments there is now an area of the forum devoted to ongoing assignments that cover such topics as photographing the trot and canter, planning for portraits, Silhouettes and Digital Paintings.

Our fun shoots included The Equinox in Black and White, May Day, End of Summer Light, Autumn Colors and The Summer and Winter Solstices. Some truly amazing and inspiring work from photographers from all over the world was submitted for these shoots.

In October Members were challenged to shoot every day for an assigned one word topic for the Photo a Day Challenge. The results were amazing and inspiring and a high percentage of those who started the challenge made it through to the end. See some of the great images that were created during this challenge, as well as a slide show for each topic.

Join us for more fun and challenging shoots and assignments this year! Check out the 2011 Image Assignment Calendar.
