This is one of my favs of Courtney and Idocus. I can't believe none of us told her to take off her gloves, I think we were star struck for sure, what an honor to see her working her boys, we were in the presence of greatness!

This is Kat, one of Lendon's working students and a lovely rider and model. She rode three different horses for us while Lendon talked about dressage.
We were able to shoot in a big field at Gleneden with big beautiful trees and not a bad background anywhere, and they kept bringing out more beautiful horses and riders, it was pretty unreal actually now that I think back on it!
OK, now I need to get some real work done.

Ok. I am going to skip over a few to post this one. The fences at Pinnacle had to be nearly 6 feet tall which you could not really visualize until you stood next to them. So I did my best "shoot over the crowd" shot and got this of the beautiful fall color that was all around us.

What a great weekend! Thanks Carien and Betty for everything you did to make this retreat what it was - a great education, exposure to amazing horses and horse people, fun and laughter, and a chance to make some new EPNet friends. My most memorable moment was seeing those Percherons thundering up the hill towards us.........feeling rather silly for getting teary eyed.........and turning to see everyone else was as moved as I was. That moment represented the power and magic of the Spirit of the horse.........it will stay with me for a long time. Thank you Stacey for sharing your horses and your family with us. Here is a picture of you and your precious girl. Deb

These pots caught my eye as I arrived at Pinnacle first thing in the morning. We had a discussion the day before about how much easier it s for artists to "see" things when they are shooting photos. I have always struggled with this as I cannot even draw stick figures let alone anything else!
BUT, when I drove by this little building, these pots jumped right out at me. I love how the shadows from the trees fall on the building. I did not leave a lot on the bottom and I wish I had, There was a shadow in the grass that bothered me so I did not include it.
I would love feedback on this.

Heading to lunch. The lighting on Saturday at Glendon was so wonderful. Everywhere you looked, there was something to see.

I was amazed at the amount of time that Lendon gave us out of her hectic schedule. She had riders demonstrating every move in dressage, explaining the footfall of each and when the best capture point is for each movement. Piaffe anyone!
