So sorry for the delay in thanking you for your comments and answering your question. I used a Nikon D3S with a 70-200 2.8 lens. I didn't do much to the photo other than some tweaking of Clarity and Sharpness in Lightroom. There was a blue rowboat laying on the side of the pond that I took out using the Clone/Heal tool (can't remember which one). But other than that, this is what came out of the camera.
Just as an aside, my horse has just moved to this farm and this was his first time turned out in such a large field. He would venture out to explore then come galloping back to get a quick assurance that all was OK. In hindsight, I should have taken off his halter but I wasn't sure if I'd need to catch him quickly if he started to become unsettled. He never did settle in this field, so after two days we ended up moving him to a field closer to the barn without the nice background. So this was the only time I photographed him here.
