While visiting a local stable last spring, I captured this Saddlebred being worked. This headshot is a crop from a favorite shot; I liked his expression and the yellow buttercups in the background.

Returning to the barn following the morning session at a local horse show. This shot wasn't planned; I just saw it as I was lugging my equipment back to the trailer. Originally shot in April's greenery, I decided to process it this way.

Not a dressage photographer per se, I leave that up to the previous poster, Sharon Packer..... But when I had the opportunity to shoot a clinic with some young horses, I jumped at the chance. It was wonderful to watch and in my opinion, these young horses were great (but what do I know about dressage, not much!). I had a lot of fun, but it was tough because they did not ride any kind of pattern. Rodrigo Matos was the instructor and he would tell the riders what to do, which had me running (can you believe that?), well, mostly walking really fast around the perimeter of the arena.

By george, I think I've got it!!!! "Licking" the trick of blending layers in a montage was my 2011 resolution.

I created a calendar as a 'thank you' for each of my big farm shoots this year, and the montage I did for the cover of one is DEFINITELY my favorite endeavor of the year. One image was from one shoot for this customer; the other was from the other shoot.

BUT...it had no horses in it. So...what to do? Borrow a couple from ANOTHER shoot, of course.
