What a nice photo! The Lemur is taking control of the situation while the Gypsy foal is thinking "yeah, whatever!"
This is a beautifully exposed image that avoids harsh sun, shows perfect placement of the subjects in the frame, and captures a sublimely whimsical mood between disparate species. I cannot imagine anyone looking at this image without smiling!
Over the past five years or so, for me, as an aspiring pro/commercial equine photographer/videographer, Mark Barrett's work has been the gold standard. His work has set the height of the bar. For anyone who is just happening across EPNet as a fan of great horse photography, this is as good as it gets. The following video says it better than I can. If you want to set goals for yourself as an equine photographer, here you go! If it makes you want to chuck your camera into the darkest corner of hall closet and give up, don't give up. We all need a good jolt once in awhile, here's 220 volts of horse photography!
