Does anyone know how you get photographers pass to the race tracks?

Generally, you must be credentialed by a publication.

I got a pass from the race association - as I was working on a project called the Equine Heritage Exhibit and I asked if they would like to be a part of it - they gave me a one year free pass to all tracks in Alberta - I usually had to go and chat to the official track photographer and explain what I was doing and also that I wasnt trying to steal his clients. It was great I could go and shoot early morning gallops as well as have access to all areas of the track including the stables - This was important to me because I wanted to interview the grooms as well as the jockeys and trainers. You may have to bypass the race track officials and go via the jockey club or racing federation - Tell them you are writing a book
