I do use Breezebrowser. Now this is after I've done all my tweaks in photoshop.
When I save an image for web use, I use the proof option in breezebrowser. I generally have it set at 600 pixels for both sides, the program will then adjust for any difference in size and use 600 for the long side, vertical or horizontal. Use the sharpening on there but use the HQ high quality setting instead of unsharp. The other adjustment I use is is to set the dpi at 72( this one is made next to format and gives you a range of 0-100 to choose from). Those are the settings I use on there to prepare my images for upload to the web.
