This is one of my all-time favorite photos. How wonderful to have captured Cloud's colt and mare in the water! This is truly a unique photo, Sharon. Thanks for sharing this one with us.

Every time I put my camera down and think that every photo has been taken in some form and what on earth am I doing, I come back to this one and go back out the door and back to work. You are such an inspiration to we beginners of the world, Sharon! Thank you

It just has such a relaxed air to me "a little spa for mom". Great image Sharon.
Best,
Leslie

Thank you for your kind comments. Please remember to add your email address to the "Cloud Foundation" for updates on the fate of these wonderful horses. It's just beyond me that there are people who continue to desire their destruction.

Best,
Sharon

Sad note. This little guy was taken in the recent "gather" of the Pryor Mountain bands no more to be free. You may read about the round-up here:

I have liked this one from the first time I saw it - great shot! How sad that he was rounded up. I guess I'd better hurry to get out west to shoot the wild horses before they no longer exist.

It's all just too sad. How great you were able to get those fantastic pictures of Cloud's family while they were still free. Will you be going to the he National Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board Meeting VA on September 28th Sharon? I sure wish I could be there. And isn't the meeting the same weekend as the adoption of the captured Prior Mountain horses in Montana?

I don't know when or if it will ever be the same on the Pryor Mtns. I didn't take so many photos. Mostly I sat on a rock and took in the beauty in other ways. Before I realized, I was surrounded by mares and younger horses. All were curious, smelling me, blowing on my face, trying to get into my camera bags....just being horses. A yearling even gave me a little nuzzle on the back of my neck. You are supposed to stay 100 feet from the horses but it's difficult. It's just so painful to imagine them terrified in pens waiting a fate unknown. @ Bev, yes that is the weekend of the adoption. I wish I could be there. I would love nothing more than bringing Image home with me if he cannot be free.
